He’s Back! “Eric Clayton: The Sequel!” This time Eric will accompany us down a different way of approaching God: Contemporary Culture as an Avenue to Prayer, a Conduit to Finding God in All Things. Stories can be an escape. Novels, movies, plays and comics take us beyond our ordinary lives and into something epic. But what if instead of providing an escape, the stories of contemporary culture helped us expand our imagination? St. Ignatius of Loyola reminds us that we can and should find God present in all things.

Join fellow community members from Catholic Community at Stanford as we head to Common Roots Farm in Santa Cruz for a morning of volunteering. Work may include planting, harvesting, working soil, clearing beds, petting chickens, feeding sheep, or whatever needs to be done on the farm that day. The morning will begin at 9:30am and end around 12:30pm. We will provide lunch to those who wish to stay. We are unable to provide rides to the farm but will help volunteers coordinate carpooling.

Join us on Saturday, April 27th, for a day of volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. We'll be helping out at the historic Pallesen Apartments in San Jose, which are being saved from demolition and transformed into affordable homes for four families in the city.

The original and the sequel together at one retreat house near you! A mostly silent, directed retreat.
Our Fall Retreat on Discernment and Decision-Making was such a hit that we are bringing it back for another round! Those who could not attend the Fall Retreat have another chance. Those who made the Fall Retreat are invited to participate in the Spring Retreat as well to examine the fruits of the previous discernment. The schedule is flexible, allowing personal time for academic work.
Begins with dinner on Friday and concludes with lunch on Sunday.

Learn how faith can ground us in our advocacy work and help us become stronger advocates and stay motivated when faced with political adversity. Two-day workshop—March 2 and March 9, 9am-Noon
Mindfulness, meditation, yoga are excellent spiritual practices proven to improve physical and mental health but there is something more in the Catholic arsenal. In this workshop, we will learn of a variety of Catholic-based approaches for better health and wellness that are receiving more attention and empirical support. The core tenets from Jesuit spirituality we will discuss include seeing God (or the sacred) in all things, attending to the whole person, decision-making using discernment, and ending the Examen.
